Fittest Games Challenge

So excited about the final challenge of the Fittest Games Challenge. Going in I knew the workouts were going to be killer...and they were. However, I adjusted better than I thought I would to the weight. And at the end, the workout I feared the most turned out to be easier to get through. Here are the workouts we did:

1st Workout:

4 Rounds for Time - 20 minute cap
Phat Running Cindy
400 Meter Run
5 Pull Ups
10 Push Ups
15 Squats Men - 115lb Women - 80lb
*All Pull Ups are Chest to Bar

2nd Workout
20 Minute Cap
500 Meter Row
10 Full Squat Clean Men – 155lb Women – 100lb
2 Pull Ups
8 Full Squat Clean
4 Pull Ups
6 Full Squat Clean
6 Pull Ups
4 Full Squat Clean
8 Pull Ups
2 Full Squat Clean
10 Pull Ups
500 Meter Row
*All Pull Ups are Chest to bar

For the first one I just didn't feel that awake yet for some reason. I pushed through it but not as fast as I wanted. After a little 2 hour break and some slammin central market breakfast tacos....I attempted the second one. This time, I was just in the mood to work out. I wasn't sure about the 100 pound squat clean...but it just came to me and I got through it. I was so glad when it was over. I was competing with some pretty amazing women who kicked my ass by 4 minutes ( combined times for both ). But since they did not participate in the first fittest games...I was able to place first and when the cash prize!!

Driving home I realized I am so much stronger than I used to be...in every way. CrossFit has given me a healthier eating and some ripped abs. I have been working out and running for 14 years. 2009 is the first year I have seen such a change in my body and heavy lifting ability. I am so glad this has stumbled into my life, or me into it. It really changes everything. Now...on to regionals in Fort Worth. more pics to come~
