On my soapbox...


This is what I found walking into work today. I work at a gym!!! Every week someone brings crap like this in and expects everyone to be so excited. It doesn't excite me. It disgusts me. Don't be fooled, I worshiped the donuts in high school. Knowing now what I have learned about nutrition, I wouldn't eat it for any reason. It makes me mad that people get so excited about pushing these things in their body. What we eat fuels our body. Is this the kind of fuel that we need for exercise? NO. Its not. When my clients eat similar "treats", I could tell at their next workout. They are sluggish, get tired easier...that means lots of unnecessary water breaks.

Are these "treats?" Is this really what you want to treat your body with?? How about treating yourself to a good protein/vegetable/healthy fat lunch. That is more of a treat than any sugar coated bready desert. I do treat myself..with long naps....family time....and yes..once a week wine night. BUT- keep it in control. Cheating isnt cheating all day...its one little snack that reminds you of why you are eating healthy...cause you felt like crap once you ate it. After my week of out of control snacks- I felt terrible. Every workout was more work than usual. Ive learned. Now on to my friends/family....

You only get out of your body what you put into it.
